Happy Reconciliation Day!
We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, the traditional custodians of this great land we live in. Take a moment to consider the great privilege of living in Australia, and the great cost that allowed us all this privilege. Reconciliation is the process of bridging the gap between the indigenous and non-indigenous Australians in the country, a process which is still very much in the works. Every year is a baby step forward, you cannot simply erase the snowball effects of great injustice and the tearing away of a people from their culture, ways and family. However, we can all work together to engage with, advocate for and support our Indigenous peers, friends, family and people.
There is no moving forward to the future without acknowledgement of our past.
